Preliminary Edit

I made a Prezi describing and giving examples of different shots and features that I would explore and try to follow in my preliminary edit.

 PRELIMINARY EDIT

Before filming the preliminary edit, I planned it using a storyboard:

Below is the preliminary edit that I decided to edit in MovieMaker to display editing skills across different platforms - not just Premiere Pro. I assured continuity by making sure the green book was in the same place during the first shots, and by making sure that Sianna's blazer and uniform stayed the way it was. The edit itself was directed by Kadaman, and I worked the camera until the scene with the talking - the editing was done by me.
We used this edit in order to practise our understanding of certain shots used such as shot reverse shots. When Sianna is speaking to Gene at the end of the edit, this type of shot has been used in order to establish that they were in the same place and speaking directly to one another. Match-on-action shots were also used where Sianna walks towards the door of Room 128, and then again when she walks through the door and into the room itself. The action is continued from one shot to another, giving it the impression that the movements are flowing, and it looks like the camera is following her continuously. This allows the audience to be further involved with what they are seeing, because it has no interruptions within the scene.
